The OPTASE® MOIST HEAT MASK is a clinically recommended warm compress for the management of Dry Eye Disease (DED) and related conditions, including blepharitis, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, chalazions, and styes. Heat therapy is a well-established treatment approach, as warmth helps to unblock the meibomian glands that produce the oily layer of the tear film. When these glands are blocked, the tear film breaks down quickly and dry eye symptoms worsen.
What sets OPTASE® apart is its HydroBead Technology. The beads draw natural moisture from the air and release it as a consistent, sustained moist heat when the mask is warmed, providing more effective treatment than dry heat alternatives. The mask is dual-purpose.
When refrigerated, it works as a cooling compress to soothe the itchy, red, and watery eyes associated with ocular allergies and hay fever. It comes in a protective drawstring bag for storage and is recommended for replacement after six months of daily use.
